Self help is the largest
section of most book stores. Everyone wants to “Achieve
More…” it’s part of our
“design.” More books are written about “Achievement,” more seminars are
given
and more sermons are preached on the subject then any other.
Although the results
according to a Census Bureau report “at age
65, the year we should retire 77% need help or must continue to work. They are dependant on
family, friends,
or government to survive.” Yes this includes Christians.
All the books, courses and
seminars don’t help almost eight out of
ten people.
Why? They
are written for groups of people. Some
are really excellent, but because they are made for the “average
participant”
attending the course or reading the book, they are limited.

given gifts, personality, values, or ability to comprehend the material
taught?
Who do you ask questions? Who monitors
your progress? How do you know you are getting it all or could you get
much
more from the same principal?

understand that coaching it not therapy,
counseling, or psychiatry. Therapy focuses on
the past, concerns itself with
unresolved issues and dysfunction. Coaching, on the other hand, focuses
on your
designed future. Where you have been is not important.
Reliving the
pain and futility of the past is not going to help you achieve greater
things
in the future. Coaching will enable you to negotiate the
obstacles,
maintain your focus, sustain your energy and enthusiasm, and ultimately
achieve
all that God has for you.

limits.
